About Chapter

Our Chapter History

In 1954, under the leadership of Bernard H. Semier, our first Chapter President, the Raritan Valley Chapter applied to establish a local chapter in the National Association of Cost Accountants.

As defined in the chapter’s charter it shall be known as the Raritan Valley Chapter.  The chapter was authorized to accept members from the following counties in the State of New Jersey:  Hunterdon,
Middlesex, Somerset and that portion of Monmouth County North of Highway No. 23, City of Plainfield, NJ.

With the approval by the Director in charge of Chapters and by the Board of Directors of the National Association of Cost Accountants, a chapter was granted on twenty-fifth day of March in the year 1955.

The charter membership was 227 in this initial year of the chapter.

In 1984 the East Jersey Chapter (covering Essex, Union and Hudson counties) and the Raritan Valley Chapters merged to create the current Raritan Valley Chapter serving central and eastern New Jersey.

Current Membership

Thirty–Five percent of our current members have been associated with Raritan Valley for 25 + years and I would like to recognize Roy Bellamy still active and a charter member.

The newest category of our association is the Young Professional – we have over 13%

Activities

We hold monthly dinner/educational technical seminars between September and May that combine an opportunity for networking and for Continuing Professional Educational (CPE) Credit. We also participate in many community service activities in support of worthy organizations.
